"Kara! KARA!!" Melarn tore through the jungle foliage, rushing headlong towards the Crater, knowing in his heart that whatever was going on, he would be too late to stop it.. but he refused to stand by idly while his daughter was in peril. Teba followed close behind him, though her knowledge of what was transpiring didn't come from dread or from the heart.. The surge of sudden pain, of fear, of horror, coming from some point ahead of them, told her all she needed to know.
They were already too late.
Then Teba felt something else, something.. indescribable. It wasn't pain; it wasn't fear. It was.. otherly. And it was horribly, horr

The yellow-orange orb of Al'Har continued in its implacable journey across the sky, fully illuminating the pockmarked crater beneath as the star reached its zenith. The blue glow that emanated from within was just barely visible at the high altitudes; it would have been clearly visible for miles around, save that the dense foliage landscape surrounding it blocked out most of the light, keeping it from penetrating more than a few dozen meters into the jungle. Not to mention the fact that it was now in the general vicinity of high noon, and so the color and glow would have been all washed out anyway.
But that morning, the sunlight had stil

There were tales among the local Korunnai concerning the happenings at the crater, strange tales that were often denounced as the rambling ghost stories of the uncivilized primitives. Tales of a strange being in blue armor, a being that spoke with no voice, yet the words echoed in the mind; a being that could vanish for days and then mysteriously reappear within the crater without any noticeable transition; a being that could control others: the creatures of the jungle, even the jungle itself. In short, a typically exaggerated story told by fearful primitives in an attempt to ward others away from "dangers they could never comprehend." Wh

The blue glow emanating from within the crater's central fissures pulsed softly, darkening slightly every few seconds, appearing almost to keep the rhythm of a slow heartbeat. Slow, steady.. ominous. Then dirt shifted slightly again, the loose grains twitching, shaking, though just as before, the air was still.. And then the voices came.

They were all whisper-quiet, all with that strange soft-yet-grating quality about them. Alone, they were mere fragments, disjointed words.. but together, they were something more. A history; a legacy.

The yellow-orange light of Al'Har broke upon a new day as the sun peeked over the horizon on its single inhabited planet. The sun's life-giving rays shone down through the toxic mists that covered most of Haruun Kal, giving it its well-known false appearance as an ocean planet. Looking down from orbit, it was a rather deceiving appearance, in more ways than one. It did look like a planet covered in water, which was a lie. It also appeared almost.. peaceful. This peace... would not last for long.
As Haruun Kal rotated in its eternal cycle, a peculiar feature on the surface wa
Broken desolation,
Every hope now lays alone.
Trust forever shaken,
Reaching out to the unknown.
All the times we had and shared,
You push them to the past.
Afterwards I've come to see,
Love can never last.
Feelings blaze and hearts collide,
Opening our souls.
Revealing things we sought to hide,
Gouging deep unending holes
In the things we feel, the things we say,
Viewed now as merely fiction.
Even though I try to turn around and walk away,
Never will I succeed, for love is just addiction.
Recalling all the words once said,
Each response brought back in turn,
My memories will never fade,
Each lie will help me learn.

Love May Die, But I Live Still
Lay in the grass and feel the cool breeze
On your face on a warm summer's day.
Visions of beauty dance in your mind,
Each one takes you so far away.
Memories of things that brought you such joy,
A hug, or a kiss, perhaps two.
Your heart goes aflutter as you think of these things,
Driving all of your pain behind you.
In those days, you had it all.
Each morning, you awoke full of cheer.
But now you recall that one fateful night
Unleashing your heart's deepest fear.
The love that you had was taken away,
Impossibly twisted, unreal.
Life dropped from beneath you that ghost of a day,
Imprisoning all you could feel.
Visions of beauty

Healing Only Comes With Time
Heaven knocks on a barren door,
Echoes ring across the floor.
And on that floor lays a tortured soul,
Living a life no longer whole.
In his mind he sees too clear,
Near and far what he held dear.
Gone for now but not for good,
Open spaces where she stood.
Now he stands, arms at his sides,
Looking there with hollowed eyes.
Yearning for what cannot be,
Certain he will stay lonely.
Only then does he cross the gap,
May be truth, or may be trap.
Each step's a foot, a mile long,
So hoping that he is not wrong.
When he finally gets there, he reaches out,
Ignoring the subtle nagging doubt.
Turning the knob, he's shocked to find

Brightest After Darkest Night
Today I realized how I've erred
Help me, please, I feel so scared.
Every day that passes by
Seems like forever in the blink of an eye.
Kids grow up, far too fast
Years go by, become the past.
In coming days, you will see,
Some things aren't as they should be.
Bright hopes flare, then fade away
Replaced by mists of shadow gray.
Interests live, and then they pass,
Giving way like broken glass.
Hearts beat faster, then they slow,
Times of romance come and go.
Every smile becomes a frown,
Some are happy, some feel down.
This day's dream, tomorrow's fear,
Always coming, far too near,
For when it gets here, it's easy to see,
Thin
Falling in love is a wonderful prize.
A few simple words, a blink of the eyes.
Lips press together, hearts meld as one,
Lives entertwine in the light of the sun.
In all of my life, I've known none like you.
Never before had love been so true.
Greeting each day with a laugh and a smile,
Opening my heart for you all the while.
Until the night it all went wrong.
The joyous tunes became sad songs,
Our one heart split, becoming two,
Free to choose.. And I choose you.
Letting go .. it can't be done.
Our hearts, our souls, still beat as one.
Veer away, but still you'll find
Echoes of me in the back of your mind...
Well, very soon now, I shall be releasing the first installment in a story arc I've been working on for quite a while.. assuming, of course, that I have all the proper internet access when the release date arrives. Which is entirely up in the air at the moment.
But, regardless.. It is being posted on a private forum site, as part of an RP.. but a good portion of it, mostly at the beginning, will be solo. And THAT is going to be posted on HERE before it goes up on the forums. I'll be providing a semi-brief background story before it goes up, for those who are entirely unfamiliar with it. Not right now, though, as my current time is som
